Fall Treat Bag Instructions (FILLED VERSION)
You will need:
Thread
Fabric Stabilizer, Timtex, or a similar foundation.
1. Hoop your stabilizer.
2. Sew out 1 design to the point of the last three color changes. This will show as an applique but you will not applique any fabric.
3. Make the first applique pass.
4. Gently remove hoop but DO NOT unhoop design.
5. Trim with sharp scissors up to the stitching. Do not cut through the stitches.
6. Replace hoop. Be sure not to bump hump. Make sure it is securely in place.
7. Make the final passes. This will give you a very neat and trim handle.
8. Repeat the whole process again.
9. When you have two designs completely finished remove from hoop.
10. Place wrong sides together and seam around close to the satin outline stitch using your sewing machine. You will use a straight stitch.
11. Sew up to the points represented by the red outlines (See photo). Do not sew past the red lines. This opening will give the bag room to stuff candy into it..

Halloween Treat Bag Instructions (APPLIQUE VERSION)
1. Hoop your stabilizer.
2. Sew out first pass.
3. Lay Down (position fabric).
4. Sew out second pass.
4. Gently remove hoop but DO NOT unhoop design.
6. Trim with sharp scissors up to the stitching. Do not cut through the stitches.
7. Replace hoop. Be sure not to bump hump. Make sure it is securely in place.
8. Make the final passes. This will give you a very neat and trim handle.
9. On the Frankenstein and Candy Corn Bags the final stitch on one or two areas will not go all the way around. Instead it will stop leaving on end exposed. Just go onto the next color in the chart and the stitch will secure the exposed area.
10. When you reach the step in the color chart for the handle (read this). This will show as an applique but you will not applique any fabric.
11. Make the first applique pass.
12. Gently remove hoop but DO NOT unhoop design.
13. Trim with sharp scissors up to the stitching. Do not cut through the stitches.
14. Replace hoop. Be sure not to bump hump. Make sure it is securely in place.
15. Make the final passes. This will give you a very neat and trim handle.
